Barb Wire Dolls Release Video for ‘Drown’

Barb Wire Dolls hail from an artist commune on the island of Crete, the band sold everything they owned and left crisis-ridden Greece in 2010 for Los Angeles, at the invite of legendary KROQ DJ Rodney Bingenheimer. Upon their arrival in California, Barb Wire Dolls immediately sold out the world famous Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, boasting a live show that is second to none.

Electrifying rock of this magnitude did not go unnoticed by the elder statesman of the Sunset Strip, the incomparable, irreplaceable Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead.  After seeing Barb Wire Dolls live, Lemmy took an immediate interest in the band and placed them under his supportive wing. Disgusted with the current state of rock music and its lack of true rebels, Lemmy saw that the Dolls were the obvious choice to help carry the torch of rock and roll as part of his label, Motörhead Music.

Barb Wire Dolls new album Desperate will be released on 22 July 2016 via Motörhead Music/UDR/Warner Music Group

♠ LEMMY’s Public Memorial To Be Held At LA’s Rainbow Bar & Grill This Saturday♠

He gave you his quality attention when you were talking with him and that’s the best gift you can give to anyone” – Steve Vai

The Rainbow Bar & Grill is a fixture on the Sunset strip. And up until a few days ago, on any given night, you could walk in and find Lemmy sitting at the corner of their outside bar playing the poker machine all night long. The first time you see it, you think… holy shit, it’s Lemmy. But, the more times you go back, the more commonplace it became, because Lemmy never left. Hell, the seat even has a plaque that says the stool is reserved for the late Motorhead frontman.

So, it only makes sense that Lemmy’s public memorial be held at his favorite watering hole. The Rainbow made the announcement earlier this weekend:

A twelve hour rager on a Saturday at the Rainbow? I cannot even imagine the debauchery that will go down.

Lemmy died this past Monday, Dec. 28th from an aggressive form of cancer. He learned of his cancer prognosis only two days before his death, and in the wake of his death many notable metal musicians posted touching tributes to the Motorhead frontman.
